When did you discover the New England Real Estate Journal? The New England Real Estate Journal has been a staple in three of the five generations of our family business, dating back to NEREJ’s earliest days – so I couldn’t even say when I first discovered it, because it was just always around our office. My grandfather read it, my father read it, I read it, and who knows? Maybe someday my kids will read it, too. Hats off to all the staff at NEREJ for 60 years of keeping all of us informed on development and construction in our region and sharing industry insights with impact along the way.
In what way has New England Real Estate Journal been a benefit to you and your business? As a family business focused on commercial, industrial, and institutional construction management, real estate development, planning and design, New England Real Estate Journal is a trusted, vital source of information on the markets we serve. NEREJ provides a historic record of the work completed by our firm and by our colleagues and peers, and beyond that, it also offers a unifying platform for the commercial real estate sector to keep in touch with the overarching trends affecting our region. That fosters better-informed decision-making for our business and for the clients we advise on their construction and development projects.
How long have you been affiliated with the commercial real estate industry? Connolly Brothers was established in 1880 and has evolved over the years from serving residential clients to working on public projects and eventually to commercial construction and real estate development in the 1970s. That last move, which we have been practicing ever since, is a credit to the vision of my father, Stephen Connolly IV.
