NewportFed has opened the doors of a new bank branch at 18 Post Rd. with a ribbon-cutting ceremony attended Kevin McCarthy, bank president and CEO, and town manager Steven Hartford.
The 3,200 s/f building more than doubles the space of the former Westerly branch, and provides expanded parking, a cafe station, and three drive-through lanes and an ATM. The bank has six branches.
"We are thrilled with this new location, and pleased to be able to provide our customers better parking, expanded access and all the benefits and convenience of a modern full-service banking facility," McCarthy said. McCarthy said that he is particularly proud of the design. "This is our third branch to feature stone and shingle design elements, and local officials and customers in each community have been effusive in praising our buildings design and attractiveness. The finished product is a credit to the architectural design firm Strategic DesignWorks who provided the vision, and to contractor Behan Brothers Inc. who executed the plans."
