Old Navy leases 13,000 s/f at Garden City Center

Cranston, RI Old Navy is coming to Garden City Center in 2021, joining its Gap, Inc. sister stores, Athleta, Banana Republic, and Gap at Rhode Island’s premiere outdoor shopping center.  

“The addition of Old Navy to Garden City Center brings fun, fashion and value apparel for the entire family while representing an increased commitment by Gap, Inc. to our vision of a lifestyle center that provides a variety of apparel, home and dining options that our shoppers are seeking in one location,” said Joe Koechel, general manager of Garden City Center.

The Old Navy location at Garden City Center is expected to open in late summer or early fall 2021 and will occupy 13,000 s/f that was formerly part of Cohoes which closed in 2020.  Negotiations are continuing for the remaining section of the building.

Garden City Center has served the area for 70+ years. Located off of I-95/295, the center draws Rhode Island locals as well as Mass. and Conn. customers. Today, the center encompasses 500,000 s/f of retail and office space, along with landscaping, sidewalks and public green spaces. Garden City Center features 60+ shops, services and eateries. 

including Whole Foods Market, Pottery Barn, Crate & Barrel, Lululemon, Sephora, The Container Store, L.L. Bean, Avvio, Mod Mama, Sweenor’s Chocolates, Providence Diamond Fine Jewelry, MiniLuxe and more.

As the exclusive RI location for numerous national brands and the home to an ever-expanding selection of dining favorites, Garden City is a regional destination and one of the most popular outdoor centers in the state.
