According to Pembroke Real Estate, three retail stores at Oak Grove Village, a 16-acre residential neighborhood located at the edge of Pine Banks Park in Malden and Melrose, have opened.
The new Shops at Oak Grove Village, Bobby C's Ristorante, Forever Young Day Spa and Sal's Custom Dry Cleaning, comprise more than 6,000 s/f and are locally owned. A fourth business, Beauty Nail Design, will open later this summer. All of the stores are available to both Oak Grove Village residents and the general public.
* Bobby C's Ristorante: A music themed Italian-American restaurant providing upscale service for dinner, Bobby C's will feature outdoor dining and plans to expand to offer lunch and catering services.
* Forever Young Skin Care & Medical Day Spa: Offers a range of spa services including facials, skin care treatments, acupuncture and massage therapy.
* Sal's Custom Dry Cleaning: Provides dependable and affordable dry cleaning and tailoring services for customers.
* Beauty Nail Design: Previously located in downtown Melrose, Beauty Nail Design will offer a full range of nail salon services.
"The opening of the retail amenities at Oak Grove Village is an exciting milestone in our development, as local residents now have access to a variety of conveniences right at their doorsteps," said Tom Walsh, development director of Pembroke Real Estate. "We've taken special care in the design and development of this community, including our selection of retail amenities, to ensure it meets the needs of both Oak Grove Village residents and the surrounding neighborhoods.

Once completed, The Shops at Oak Grove Village will have a total of seven retail stores across more than 15,000 s/f.

Pembroke recently began construction on the second and final phase of Oak Grove Village, currently scheduled for completion in spring 2009. This portion of the development includes 201 one- and two-bedroom apartments and a single level of underground parking in five buildings.
Once completed, Oak Grove Village will have a total of 550 apartments. Since opening in 2006 with 349 apartments, 97% of the units are leased to date.
