Pentucket Bank officially opens branch at One Merrimack St. in Haverhill

Haverhill, MA Pentucket Bank has officially opened the doors of its new One Merrimack St. branch, marking the bank’s return to White’s Corner and downtown where Pentucket Bank has proudly maintained roots since 1891.

The branch occupies the ground floor of the newly completed 660-space parking garage at the corner of Main and Merrimack Sts. It is the latest milestone in the mixed-use project that will ultimately bring 395 apartments, restaurants, and retail space to the center of the city. The bank’s involvement in the latest downtown redevelopment project began with an act of community commitment: when city officials sought to replace the aging Herbert H. Goecke Jr. Memorial Parking Deck, Pentucket Bank agreed to sell its longtime corner property to make the broader redevelopment possible. The sale to local developer Lupoli Companies was finalized in 2023, the building came down a year later, and construction of the new branch began shortly after.

The One Merrimack St. location offers the full range of Pentucket Bank services, including two drive-up lanes, a drive-up ATM, dedicated ground-floor garage parking, and safe deposit boxes. Mortgage representatives and investment advisors are on hand, and the branch features a community room open to local organizations for meetings, trainings, and planning sessions.

“It’s an exciting time in Pentucket Bank history and for our hometown,” said Stephen Jaskelevicus, a lifelong Haverhill resident and President and CEO of Pentucket Bank. “Downtown revitalization doesn’t happen through abstract market forces alone. It happens when local institutions decide to be participants rather than spectators; when they put their name on a building, take a risk alongside their neighbors, and send a signal that they believe in where they come from. That’s what this reopening represents. We believe in downtown Haverhill, we helped clear the way for this project to happen, and today we’re here.”

The design of the branch offers a modern open space concept that offers a collaborative experience for customers and their banker, with several offices available for more in-depth conversations. The Branch is accessible from underneath the parking garage where there are several dedicated Pentucket Bank spaces, as well as from outside the garage on Merrimack St., where there is also walk-up ATM available 24/7.

Pentucket Bank has served Haverhill and the greater Merrimack Valley without interruption for more than 130 years. In addition to the new downtown location, the bank operates branches at Westgate Plaza and on Lincoln Avenue near Trinity Haverhill Stadium, with additional locations in North Andover, MA, and Hampstead, and Salem, N.H.

The focus on price per s/f compared to the comparable sales used in the appraisal report - by Dennis Chanski

Over the past several weeks, I have completed appraisal assignments for private clients. Interestingly, after submitting these appraisals, I received several phone calls – not to question the value, content, or any incorrect information, but rather to discuss the price per s/f compared to the comparable sales used in the report.
