According to RFR Realty, member companies of W. R. Berkley Corporation, an insurance holding company that is among the largest commercial lines insurance writers in the U.S., have agreed to lease 46,500 s/f at Three Stamford Plaza in downtown Stamford.
W. R. Berkley Corporation's operating units will complete a build out of the space before relocating to Three Stamford Plaza in summer 2011, bringing the building to 98% occupancy. Stamford Plaza has a track record of outperforming the local real estate market.
Margaret Carlson, RFR Realty's Stamford portfolio director, represented the property owner in the transaction negotiations. W.R. Berkley was represented by Belinda Scanlon of Bernard Realty.
Carlson said, "We are pleased that we were able to meet W. R. Berkley's requirements for high- quality space. As a property owner, our financial strength, the ability to respond quickly to tenant needs and our ability to offer Class A space at competitive prices enables us to complete transactions of this size and term."
Three Stamford Plaza is part of a four-building complex located at 301 Tresser Blvd. The 15-story, 242,000 s/f office tower features an expansive four-story lobby.
Amenities at Stamford Plaza include 24/7 manned security, state of the art telecommunications, attached parking garage, fitness center, conference facility, cafeteria, and a private shuttle to the Stamford train station.
RFR Realty owns and manages seven Class A Stamford office buildings totaling 1.8 million s/f.
