
Alan Fishman, 69, founder and president of Fishman Realty Group, died on August 30. He was born in Boston on June 17, 1942. He was a graduate from Lawrence Academy and attended Babson College, and graduated from Boston University, with a B.S. in Business.
He began his real estate career, representing Stop N' Shop's real estate division.
When he moved to Maine he joined J.B. Brown & Sons, southern Maine's premier commercial development company. In the early 1980s, Fishman started his own development company, Atbro Corp., and was involved in the development of what is now known as 1 and 2 Portland Sq. in downtown Portland.
Expanding on development, he purchased Property Management Services, a full service property management, leasing and maintenance company. And in 1987 he founded Fishman Realty Group.
Fishman was a founding member of the Maine Commercial Association of Realtors and a board member of the Maine Real Estate Development Association.
