E.S. Boulos (ESB) is underway with electrical construction of the Maine Medical Center's Cancer Care Complex (MMCCI) expansion project on the Scarborough campus. The MMCCI 55,000 s/f expansion will include new women's diagnostic imaging, IV therapy, radiation therapy, clinics, and conference areas.
ESB's $1 million contract was awarded by construction manager Langford and Low. ESB's scope includes renovation of low voltage systems and will encompass demolition, installation of new lighting and lighting control systems, extension and rework of the existing fire alarm system and nurse call system, as well extensive voice/data infrastructure upgrades.
ESB's Garrett Gustafson served as ESB's lead estimator for the project, and the field crew will be supervised by project manager Greg Perron and general foreman Jim Greene.
The project will be handled in four major phases and E.S Boulos will be providing electrical construction services while the cancer care facility is partially occupied and operational. The project commenced this summer and is targeted for completion in one year, by summer 2012.
