According to the New London office of Connecticut Commercial Realty & Select Homes, CorePlus Federal Credit Union has signed a lease for 3,299 s/f of office space at Great Plains Plaza, 113 Salem Tpke. The property, located at the junction of Rte, 82 (aka Salem Tpke.) and I-395, is owned by Plaza Enterprises, LLC. The tenancy, which began February 1st, is under a net lease with a three year term, and a three year renewal option.
Plaza Enterprises, LLC was represented in the lease transaction by attorney Mark Block of the Norwich firm BJP, while Coreplus Federal Credit Union was represented by attorney Gerald Smith Jr. of the Norwich firm Chinigo, Leone & Maruzo, LLP. Listing broker William Newman and Allie Resnik, both of Connecticut Commercial Realty, brokered the lease with the firm acting as a "dual agent."
Coreplus Federal Credit Union was founded in Norwich in 1936, and today is a rapidly growing community financial institution with over 21,000 members and some $188 million in assets. According to Warren Scholl, president and CEO, the Credit Union has outgrown its headquarters at 202 Salem Tpke. and will be using the new space at 113 Salem Tpke. for lending and underwriting operations.
This tenancy brings the property to near full occupancy, with one remaining space of 2,640 s/f.
