The new 56,295 s/f Lundgren Honda dealership, located at 145-163 Washington St., has opened for business. BKA Architects of Brockton, developed the design that adapted the new Honda Dealership prototype to the demands of the site and the specific needs of Lundgren Automotive Group. Construction Management & Builders Inc. of Lynnfield, was the general contractor for the project.
Having outgrown the existing 28,000 s/f facility that it occupied since the mid-1990s, Lundgren Honda pursued development of a new dealership facility that met American Honda Motors' new brand standards, and also met specific space requirements. The new building allows Lundgren Honda to increase its new and used vehicle inventory and expand its service operation. The building features a showroom, a service department with 22 service bays, an automatic car wash, 4 quick-lube service bays, and 8 car quick lube oil change pits. For customers visiting the showroom or waiting while their cars are serviced, there is a business center with free wifi, lounge chairs with tablet arms, and a charging station for all mobile devices. Additionally, there is a customer lounge, a café and a children's play center available for their use. The parking lot has 417 spaces nine of which are designated handicapped parking spots.
During the groundbreaking ceremony in Nov. 2011, the new dealership was dedicated to Richard Lundgren, the father of Barry Lundgren and his brother Patrick Lundgren, who are the current owners of the dealership.
