Almost 100 new CT statutes took effect on October 1. Most of the laws were approved this past legislative session. Statutes affecting the construction industry include; Public Act (PA) 12-99 crane definition and licensing, budget and bond for infrastructure projects, PA 12-18 mechanical contractor registration, PA 12-77 the state's second injury fund, PA 12-101 erosion control in shoreline communities, PA 12-151 regulated activities by local inland wetland commissions, and PA 12-47 zoning enforcement.
