A groundbreaking ceremony was held to mark the beginning of construction for the new Mirbeau Inn & Spa at The Pinehills. J.K. Scanlan Co., LLC will be constructing the $13.8 million inn and spa.
The getaway retreat will offer membership programs, a fine dining restaurant, and a wine bar and bistro.
The project features 50 guest rooms, a 14,000 s/f spa and an additional 5,000 s/f of function space, along with a garden wedding/event area and catering for social and business groups of up to 250. The spa overlooks the 18th fairway of the Rees Jones designed golf course.
Along with general contractor J.K. Scanlan Co., the project team includes the architect Arrowstreet, Inc. and owner's Mirbeau Boston South, LLC.
Mirbeau Inn & Spa at The Pinehills is scheduled to open in spring 2014.
The Pinehills consists of 3,174 acres, of which over 2,200 acres is preserved as natural and recreation open space. Over 1,700 families live in The Pinehills.
The community has two 18-hole golf courses. The Village Green has over 25 shops and services, including Rye Tavern (formerly the Wright Tavern, built in 1792), Jordan Hospital Rehab Center, U.S. Post Office and a TD Bank branch. Over 1.3 million s/f of commercial and retail space is planned for the project. The Pinehills has 9 exclusive builders including AvalonBay Communities, Toll Brothers, Whitman Homes and Barefoot Cottage Co.
