Maxwell's Green will celebrate the opening of its Public Green and the completion of the innovative, eco-friendly residential development with a "Spring on the Green" event on May 9th.
Somerville mayor Joseph Curtatone, local businesses and residents will gather for an evening outdoors featuring live music and local food truck favorites.
Maxwell's Green, a new residential development located less than a mile from Davis Sq. along the community bike path, offers a unique, eco-friendly lifestyle with a variety of amenities - including an onsite yoga studio, fitness center, club suite, community chef's kitchen, social networking lounge and roof deck. The 184 LEED Certified and certifiable units include studios, 1, 1+ Den, 2, 2 + den and 3 bedroom flats and 3 bedroom townhomes.
"We are thrilled to announce the opening of the public green space and the completion of the Maxwell's Green development," said developer Kyle Warwick of Gate Residential. "We hope the community will join us for this 'Spring on the Green' event to celebrate the new outdoor community space and our growing partnership with the local neighborhood and city of Somerville."
Local Somerville food trucks, including Kickass Cupcakes, the Flatbread Company, Roxy's Grilled Cheese, Redbones and Spindrift Beverages will be onsite for "Spring on the Green," along with live entertainment to inaugurate the Public Green. Maxwell's Green, located near the community bike path and a variety of public transit options, serves as a model for transit oriented development across the country.
"Maxwell's Green is a vibrant community with cutting edge amenities set in an ideal location with easy access to the greater Boston area," said developer Darin Samaraweera of KSS Realty Partners. "It's a model for eco-friendly development, and we're proud that we've been able to create a public realm that the entire community will be able to enjoy."
