Jewett Construction Company, Inc. plans to contribute in-kind services to the upcoming renovation of the main collections storage building at Old Sturbridge Village.
Old Sturbridge Village is one of the country's oldest and largest living history museums-with historians in costume, antique buildings, water-powered mills, and a working farm-has more than 50,000 early New England antiques, including historic tools and artifacts that are routinely used for exhibits and programs, and for furnishing its historic buildings. The majority of objects not currently on display are housed in the collections building.
Renovation, including climate control and security, is to begin this summer. JCCI will donate materials and labor to replace the building's exterior doors.
Jewett is a Raymond, NH-based design-build / construction management firm specializing in commercial and industrial projects throughout the Northeast.
