The Eagle Hill School and Consigli Construction Co., Inc. recently topped off the new Cultural Center, a 45,000 s/f facility that will enhance the school's impact on its students, teachers and community.
Situated predominantly on the campus quad, the Cultural Center will include a new dining hall and theater, both of which will have the capacity to seat 455 patrons, as well as classrooms, workshops and gallery space. The Cultural Center will not only serve the needs of the school, but also the surrounding communities, a key objective in building this long-awaited facility.
Design for the $15 million project was provided by Lamoureux Pagano & Associates.
In addition to the theater and dining hall, the Cultural Center will feature amenities designed to display the diversity of its students, including: art, drama and music classrooms; photography room; woodworking shop; and a box office and green room to complement the theater.
Currently, work crews have erected the building's steel skeleton and begun forming the framework for the theater and classroom spaces. All site and utility work is complete, and the building will soon be enclosed with a natural stone façade, allowing the team to begin interior infrastructure and building finishes. Consigli's own self-perform workforce built the building's foundation, and will install millwork, siding, windows and doors.
"The Cultural Center is going to transform and strengthen almost every aspect of Eagle Hill School - educationally, architecturally, socially and culturally," said Eagle Hill headmaster PJ McDonald.
"It is truly a pleasure to work with a company of Consigli's character and caliber. Despite the magnitude and complexity of this project, we remain on schedule and on budget, while never once having compromised the quality of the construction or the integrity of the design. We could not be more pleased with the partnership and product we are getting from Consigli Construction."
