Groundbreaking ceremonies were held recently at the Cape Cod Five Cents Savings Bank building, the first structure in Rosebrook Place.
The building will house Cape Cod 5's first off-Cape full-service branch. The 12,000 s/f building will also house a coffee shop and office space.
The bank building at Rosebrook Place was designed by Brown Lindquist Fenuccio & Raber Architects and construction is by JK Scanlan Company.
A.D. Makepeace president and CEO Michael Hogan was joined at the ceremony by Dorothy Savarese, president and CEO of the Cape Cod Five, state rep. Susan Williams Gifford, and Wareham selectman chairman Peter Teitelbaum..
"The Cape Cod 5 team, led by Savarese, understands the opportunities that this untapped market presents," Hogan said. "We envision Rosebrook Place as a unique mixed use development whose highway access makes it very appealing. The result will complement existing businesses in the area and create a true hospitality and shopping destination."
"We are so excited about our opportunity to serve the customers and communities around the wonderful new Rosebrook development," said Savarese. "As a locally owned and managed business, the A.D. Makepeace Company shares our values and commitment, and we hope to support their efforts to increase economic activity, and create new jobs and amenities in the area."
Site work at this location is being done by KR Rezendes Inc. and will include parking and access to the new TownePlace Suites by Marriott, to be built by the Lafrance Hospitality Group.
Among the qualities of the Rosebrook development is the active cranberry bog located between Rosebrook Place and Rosebrook Business Park. The first building of the business park is occupied by Southcoast Health System and Fresenius Medical Care.
