ArchitectureBoston Expo (ABX) will take place at the Boston Convention and Exhibition Center November 19 - 21. The largest regional conference and tradeshow, ABX draws 95% of its attendance from New England, making regional reach its greatest strength.
The 2013 conference program offers over 175 workshops and tours for building industry professionals. Seminar tracks like building systems and commissioning, building performance, and energy solutions provide a sharp focus on issues of efficiency, conservation, and designing to net zero energy. New tracks include business development, resiliency, and urban Boston.
Led by thought leaders from nationally recognized industry partners such as NESEA, NEEP, MIT, and the Institute for Human Centered Design, ABX hosts the most comprehensive conference program in the country for the A/E/C professional. Tours are also offered, providing attendees access to some of Boston's newest and most innovative spaces, including Fort Point's 319A St., 11 Fan Pier Blvd., and the Fraunhofer CSE headquarters.
ABX expects more than 8,500 attendees to visit the 400 building product and service vendors in Hall C. The center of the show floor, BSA Central, will be a hub for all attendees - providing intimacy for attendees in the middle of the action. WHAT'S IN from ADD Inc has designed the Quad; a follow-up social space to the full mockup of a 300 s/f living space that debuted at ABX last year. The idea behind the Quad is a fully adaptable public space for spontaneous social interaction.
The BSA will kick off ABX with its annual opening night celebration - the ABX Social. Taking place on the top floor of the BCEC, the space offers views of the city while connecting exhibitors, attendees, and BSA members in a fun night of networking. A number of associations and alumni groups host receptions in the show's second night.
Produced by the Boston Society of Architects (BSA), this is the second year for ABX. Founder and long-time co-producer of Build Boston and Residential Design & Construction, the BSA retired the 27-year-old brands in 2012 to commit fully to the new show.
Registration for ABX 2013, November 19 - 21 is available at abexpo.com.
