Sullivan & Sullivan Auctioneers completed the sale of 3 properties sold at a town ordered public auction. The town sold the properties for amounts far exceeding total taxes owed and placing the properties back onto the tax rolls.
Impressively attended, the Saturday auction took place in the New Marlborough Town Hall. The auction drew active competition for each of the properties. Auctioneer Marianne Sullivan evoked bids from an interested and active crowd that included investors and abutters.
A majority of the bidding took place over a parcel of land on Cagney Rd. A number of bids were exchanged between interested parties before the property sold for an amount that nearly doubled taxes owed on the property.
Two separate properties with homes in need of repair sold at the auction. Each property drew bids that contributed to the day's final total revenue, steering the property back into the possession of tax paying individuals.
With combined total sales resulting in an amount 60% over the taxes owed on the properties town officials said, "The board of selectmen were pleased with the results and the professional manner in which the auction was conducted."
Sullivan & Sullivan conducted the auction on behalf of the town.
