Suffolk Construction has hired Martina Toponarski as a senior business development manager for its science and technology sector.
Toponarski comes to Suffolk with 10 years of experience working in the public sector with team members from a wide range of disciplines on developing strategic plans, managing projects, facilitating effective partnerships, identifying potential opportunities for growth, and promoting goals and agendas at the local, regional and international levels.
Prior to accepting her new position at Suffolk, Toponarski was a life sciences and biotechnology sector manager for Boston Redevelopment Authority in charge of Boston mayor Thomas Menino's LifeTech Boston initiative focused on fostering the growth of the life sciences industry in the city of Boston. During her six years in this position, Toponarski developed, managed and implemented strategic plans to uphold and grow the life sciences sector. In addition, she created and maintained significant partnerships which helped build the life sciences cluster in Boston's Innovation District. Her efforts attracted more than 50 life sciences-related companies to the city over the last six years. Concurrently, Toponarski received her graduate degree in management from Harvard University.
