This fall, 10 property owners representing multiple Boston neighborhoods and diverse variety of projects will be honored by the Boston Preservation Alliance during its 2014 Preservation Achievement Awards. Now in their 26th year, the Awards recognize the city's best examples of historic preservation, sensitive new development, and skillful reconstruction - key components of Boston's rich past, promising future, and current vitality. Antonia Pollak will receive the Codman Award for Lifetime Achievement in recognition of her steadfast and career-long support for preservation efforts across the city. This year, the first ever President's Award for Excellence will be given to Howard Elkus and David Manfredi of Elkus Manfredi Architects for decades of dedication to the character, vitality, and vibrancy of Boston's built environment.
The Preservation Awards highlight the role that Boston's historic resources play in supporting the city's social, cultural, and economic success.
