At an AGC of Mass. chapter directors' meeting, Joe Albanese, president of Commodore Builders, took over the chairmanship of AGC of Massachusetts' board of directors. He talked about enhancing the public profile of the association, engaging members and the board in more meaningful ways including a call for stronger legislative and labor action, and developing a closer working relationship with allied associations toward bettering the business climate for all construction in the Commonwealth. A major goal for his term will be to develop avenues to advance diversity within the construction environment in Mass.
Joining Albanese as officers for the next two years will be vice chairman Paul Hewins, who is executive vice president/general manager, Skanska USA Building's New England region, and treasurer, Steve Avery, chief financial officer for Dimeo Construction.
Remaining board members represent 13 additional construction firms who together with the officers perform most of the commercial and institutional building that is taking place in the Commonwealth and throughout New England.
AGC of Massachusetts will celebrate 80 years of serving the building industry in Mass. in 2015.
