Whittier undertook this project to support their goal of fighting disease and improving life expectancy among urban residents. As part of a new approach to wellness, Whittier's doctors are now prescribing exercise as part of their patients' daily routines. At the nominal cost of $10 per month, more than 300 patients have joined the club in the first two weeks.
