According to Peabody Properties, Inc., Maria Oymaian will join the firm's leadership team as senior director of compliance and long-time employee Lynne Sales has been promoted to the position of director of resident services.
As senior director of compliance, Oymaian will oversee and coordinate subsidy administration and regulatory compliance, file audits and develop and implement corrective action plans for affordable housing programs.
Oymaian has 30 years of experience in the real estate industry, specifically in affordable housing. As a National Affordable Housing Professional at the executive level (NAHP-e), Specialist in Housing Credit Management (SHCM) and Certified Credit Compliance Professional (C3P), Oymaian serves as the chair of the TRACS/contract administrator committee, is a member of the National Affordable Housing Management Association and is actively involved in the New England Affordable Housing Management Association (NEAHMA).
Prior to joining Peabody Properties, Oymaian served as the director of compliance at Winn Residential. Earlier in her career, Oymaian worked with several real estate firms as an on-site property manager. she received a bachelor of science degree in Urban Studies from Worcester State University.
According to Melissa Fish-Crane, principal and chief operating officer for Peabody Properties, Oymaian brings valuable expertise to the Peabody Properties leadership team. "Maria's experience in the affordable housing industry is a great addition to the firm," said Fish-Crane. "We are thrilled to welcome her to Peabody Properties."
As director of resident services, Sales will work with Peabody Resident Services, Inc., overseeing site resident services staff and expanding the resident services housing program. Sales joined the Peabody Properties team in 2004 as a resident service coordinator.
After serving in this role for five years, she transitioned to grants and project manager and in 2013 was promoted to the regional resident services manager.
A Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW), Sales serves on the Board of Directors of NEAHMA and is Chairperson of NEAHMA's Charity and Drugs & Security Committees.
Sales received a bachelor of science degree in Human Services from Fitchburg State University and a master's degree in Social Work from Salem State University.
