Monroe, CT The Cushman & Wakefield Stamford office participated in the first-ever Autism SpectRUN 5K run hosted by The Kennedy Center Autism Project. The firm raised $3,375 to benefit The Autism Project, which will not only help the organization continue to provide comprehensive affordable program services, but will also help meet the growing demand for these services in the community.
The SpectRun 5K run for the Kennedy Center’s Autism Project is an opportunity to make a difference in the fight against autism by raising money for autism research and heightening public awareness. Autism is the second most common developmental disorder in the United States affecting 1 in every 68 children born today. More children will be diagnosed with autism this year than with AIDS, diabetes & cancer combined. Research is crucial. Despite some promising discoveries, the cause of autism is unknown and a cure does not exist.
