Boston, MA Amenta Emma Architects was honored with two awards at the 10th annual IIDA New England Design Awards ceremony on March 2. Symmetry Partners received Best In Connecticut, and Quinnipiac University Brand Strategy Group won Best In Show, selected from 106 entries in 12 categories.
Best in Show - Quinnipiac University Brand Strategy Group, Hamden CT - A 19th century house has been transformed into a 21st century powerhouse for ideas for Quinnipiac University’s Brand Strategy Group. The design team’s ambitious approach to opening up the interior spaces of the house resulted in a collaborative contemporary environment for this organization, which is responsible for the University’s marketing, communications, brand identity, and digital initiatives.
Best in Connecticut - Symmetry Partners, Glastonbury CT - The new corporate headquarters for this financial services company is a contemporary, adaptive re-use of a former Data Center. Designers were challenged to bring daylight deep into the 40,000 s/f building, and to stretch the budget with the creative use of raw, industrial materials.
