Portsmouth, NH DeStefano Architects (D|A) said The Greengard Center will be hosting an Open House on May 19, 2016, from 4–7pm at its new location at 95 Brewery Lane. The Greengard Center offers a day program for adults with autism, providing a community-based curriculum that is individually tailored to each participant’s interests and abilities. The center also develops recreation and therapeutic programs for adolescents with autism.
The new facility, designed by DeStefano Architects, offers a variety of flexible spaces for varied activities and learning center programs. Prior to the opening of the new Greengard Center, the day program operated in participants’ homes and throughout the community. The center’s new location will allow the day program to grow and evolve.
The Greengard Center’s mission is to provide an inclusive quality of life for individuals with autism by providing programs that include ongoing education, meaningful work and access to recreation, social and community acceptance and participation.
Executive director and founder of the Greengard Center for Autism Barbara Frankel, Ph. D. is grateful for the support she has received to date for the project from Vince Todd and Cheryl St. Onge of V. Todd and Company Builder and WeCork for the cork flooring donation.
