Boston, MA According to global design, architecture and consulting services firm, NELSON, their project, the AIS Headquarters, received IFMA Boston’s Best Practices-Small Projects during their recent awards gala. The team created “best-in-class” world headquarters for AIS, a contractor furniture manufacturer located in Leominster, Mass. The new location combines the five different facilities into one, newly renovated building. This creates operational and energy efficiencies, attracts new employees and improves sales and the overall bottom line.
“Combining our five locations into one, while remaining in Massachusetts, has made a huge impact on how we function as a company. Not only have we been able to streamline and improve our operations to better serve and support our customers, we’re proud that we’ve had a significant impact in reducing the unemployment rate in Leominster. We consider NELSON an integral part of our success. Their understanding of our business needs allows us to create a partnership that actualizes both our business and design goals,” said Bruce Platzman CEO and president of AIS
NELSON created a workplace for AIS that joins together offices, conference rooms, collaboration spaces and amenities. The lobby design incorporates a two-story, floor-to-ceiling green wall and it also includes a mezzanine bridge that spans across the lobby space connecting two sides of the building.
AIS and NELSON began their relationship with AIS in 2013 by designing their NeoCon Showroom space. Since then, they have worked together on more than a dozen projects.
