East Hartford, CT United Steel has named Keith Corneau as president and CEO. Ken Corneau, company founder and former president and CEO, will take on the role as chairman of the board. The announcement comes as the manufacturer celebrates 45 years in business.
Keith began work at United Steel in 1997, sweeping the shop floors and rose through the ranks to become executive vice president in 2012. Under his leadership, United Steel has more than doubled annual revenues (now in excess of $100 million) and has grown to 225 employees. Keith promotes strong family and community values resulting in low turnover and countless long-term employees, earning Top Workplace awards for five consecutive years from The Hartford Courant. He also helped develop United Steel’s core values which emphasize strong customer relationships, continuous improvement, people development, and an overall enjoyable culture.
