South Windsor, CT Confluent Senior Living and Harbor Retirement Associates (HRA) are set to begin construction on a 111,951 s/f senior living community. Scheduled to break ground this month, HarborChase of Evergreen Walk will deliver 113 units for assisted living and memory care residents, helping meet the substantial demand for senior housing and care in and around Greater Hartford. Plunkett Raysich Architects, LLP is serving as the architect on the project and Whiting-Turner as the general contractor.
The project marks the first Connecticut development for both Confluent Senior Living and HRA. Situated on 5.8 acres in Hartford’s northeast suburb, HarborChase of Evergreen Walk will offer 65 assisted living and 48 memory care apartments available in one- and two-bedroom units.
Anticipated to open in December 2020, the development will be located at 325 Buckland Rd. The community is a half-mile from The Promenade Shops at Evergreen Walk, an outdoor mall with specialty shops and restaurants, and one mile from The Shoppes at Buckland Hills, which feature big-box retail, dining and entertainment.
HRA, a regional senior living development and management company, will manage HarborChase of Evergreen Walk, while co-developer Confluent Senior Living, a subsidiary of Denver-based real estate investment and development firm Confluent Development, serves as the project owner. The community marks the partnership’s seventh senior living project and represents Confluent’s 20th senior living development.
“We’re delighted to break ground on this state-of-the-art community as we continue to grow and support the high demand for senior housing in Greater Hartford,” said Charlie Jennings, chief development officer of HRA. “The community’s beautiful grounds and first-class amenities will serve the needs of residents for years to come. This community reflects HRA’s commitment to offer luxurious and pioneering services to seniors and families.”
HarborChase communities focus on serving seniors through providing choice and award-winning hospitality. Accredited chefs prepare seasonal, farm-to-table Chef’s Fare selections daily, “Best Days” are created by passionate life enrichment teams, and highly trained professional care partners deliver resident-focused care. Residents will have access to licensed nurses and 24-hour care staff, concierge, scheduled daily transportation, barber and beauty salon, fitness and wellness center, bar/lounge, club room, classrooms and activity room, full-service bistro and a private dining room with an exhibition kitchen for visiting family and guests. Outdoor amenities include a secure courtyard with a fire pit, dining area, putting green and gardens as well as walking paths with exercise stations.
“With this project marking our entrance into Connecticut, we are honored to expand and grow our portfolio of quality senior living communities across the country,” said Marshall Burton, president and CEO of Confluent Development. “Once completed, HarborChase of Evergreen Walk will offer unique living opportunities for Hartford area seniors and their families.”
