Boston, MA TRIA has expanded its staff with the hiring of 12 new employees. Founded in 2015, TRIA’s design team leverages its own research practitioner experience and first-hand knowledge of scientific organizations to bring equal parts scientific rigor and focused client service that result in innovative design solutions. Using both technology tools and a progressive “form follows culture” design philosophy, TRIA holistically integrates lab design and interior design to transform spaces into beautiful, functional centers that help companies thrive.
TRIA is more than doubling its office space in the Boston Innovation Design Building to accommodate its 50+ employees and to leave room for future new hires. TRIA has taken an additional adjacent space to its existing for 11,700 s/f on the third floor to support its continued growth.

• 200,000 s/f Current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP) mRNA clinical manufacturing facility for biotechnology company, Moderna Therapeutics
• 50,000 s/f Center for Genetics Guided Dementia Discovery (G2D2) for Eisai Inc., the U.S. pharmaceutical subsidiary of Tokyo-based Eisai Co., Ltd.
• 108,000 s/f cGMP development and manufacturing facility in Waltham, Mass. for ElevateBio
Edward Marcey, AIA ~ director of operations
With more than 20 years of experience working in the architecture and engineering disciplines, Marcey is a creative and results-oriented architect and director of operations with a strong appreciation for design and detail. He will work collaboratively with other TRIA principals and staff to review project management processes and project performance plans as well as ensure the professional growth and development of TRIA staff.
Terry Barrett, AIA, NCARB ~ senior project architect
With over 25 years of experience as a registered architect, Barrett has led the design for pharmaceutical manufacturing, lab, packaging and warehousing facilities as well as numerous power, industrial, institutional, commercial, educational, retail, and residential projects.
Melissa Kennedy, senior interior designer
With 20 years of experience, Kennedy is a passionate, highly motivated, and design-driven professional with a proven ability to produce cutting-edge designs.
Neli Ialomov, senior interior designer
Ialomov brings over 15 years of experience in hospitality, restaurant and corporate interior design to TRIA in addition to impressive design and mentoring skills.
Ronald Ashton, AIA, LEED AP ~ senior project manager
With over 30 years of experience in client communications, programming, design, bid documentation and construction administration, Ashton is a team leader with strong communication, analytical and problem-solving skills.
Rynon Roldan, PMP ~ senior project manager
Roldan is a senior project manager with over 20 years of experience in project management, architectural design, and coordination of large scale ground up, tenant improvement, and renovation projects in life science, healthcare, academic, and residential markets.
Candess Packard, project manager
Packard has over 10+ years of project management experience. She provides an unwavering passion for architecture and has been involved in a wide range of project types from schematic design to occupancy, in both Architecture and Interior Design.
Tom Knox, project manager
With almost two decades of experience, Knox began his career as a designer and transitioned to a project management role, and has consistently proven his attention to detail and ability to mentor junior staff.
Quoc Le, NCARB ~ project designer
Le brings 20 years of solid technical knowledge and a strong understanding of construction sequencing following the successful completion of several multi-million dollar projects.
Jane Hughes, RA ~ job captain
With over 15 years of experience Hughes has utilized Revit to work on projects from schematic design to construction documents and into construction administration. She has had exposure to a variety of projects ranging over $5 million dollars in cost and over 100,000sf including commercial, residential and higher ed projects.
Jason Pollutro, project designer
In his 20 years of practicing architecture, Pollutro has gained experience on a variety of projects types. He has executed both new construction and renovation projects while taking an active role from project development through construction completion. His portfolio includes laboratories, performing arts, academic buildings, healthcare facilities and makerspaces.
Neil McCann, AIA ~ BIM manager
McCann’s focus is enhancing design experience by utilizing tech tools for lean project delivery, exploring iterative design options in virtual reality, and optimizing energy efficiency and building program requirements. During project construction, he leverages digital tools for Virtual Design and Construction (VDC) to refine the design intent for means and methods constructability and owner handover.
