Tewksbury, MA Integrated Builders has begun construction for the new 715,000 s/f single-story market operations and distribution center for The Home Depot. The building will be built from the ground-up, on a 120-acre parcel within Riverview Business Park.
Integrated Builders is working in partnership with Seefried Industrial Properties, the developer of the property, MacGregor Associates Architects and VHB Civil Engineering. The Integrated Builders team includes project superintendents James Leiter and Michael Roberts, project manager Brian Kidder, assistant project manager Kim Sheehan and project engineer Dylan Johnson, who are all working in collaboration to deliver this industrial project.
Integrated Builders has completed the demolition and abatement of the former defense factory. The demolition and abatement involved the removal of the existing 540,00 s/f building to make way for this new 715,000 s/f building. Over the past few months, the bulk excavation for the building slab has been completed as well as the foundation work. The structural steel framing has begun, along with the construction specifically designed for the precast wall panels.
The Home Depot’s new distribution facility will feature modern-day highly functional employee office spaces, a reception area, training rooms, numerous conference rooms and a dedicated dispatch area. There will be a fully backed-up electrical system with a generator. For strict security purposes, a guard house will be constructed as well as a fire pump house. This multimillion-dollar project will house parking spaces for up to 227 tractor trailers along with 53 loading dock spaces.
The new distribution center will be located at 495 Woburn St., close to I-495.
