
Around the country, construction spending by federal, state and local governments has reached record levels, and Massachusetts is no exception. Recently the Legislature authorized borrowing $16 billion for public projects across the state, including $2 billion for higher education capital projects, $1.6 billion for courthouses and public safety facilities, and more than $500 million per year for school projects.
