What was your greatest professional achievement or most notable project in the last 12 months? Converting AmConCorp’s accounting software and updating our project management system to work with it. With the growth that we experienced over the past five years we quickly outgrew what we were using. We needed to make a change to work as efficiently as possible so as not to disrupt projects or the day-to-day running of the business. I had a great team and am proud to say that we were able to make the conversion without any disruptions to normal business. It was challenging at times, but the changes are scalable with future growth and we’re now better setup to support the growth.

What has been the driving force behind your success in the AEC industry? I am very fortunate to have worked with some amazing women who I not only look to as mentors but who have turned into lifelong friends. They were pivotal when it came to learning how to navigate in a male-dominated industry. Whether it was speaking up in a confident and professional way or making sure that I always had a seat at the table, they were always by my side leading by example or giving advice (even when I didn’t know I needed it).

I know that I would not be where I am today without their guidance along the way and am very thankful for them.
