I am truly honored to lead the IREM Boston Chapter #4 as we step into 2025. This year, we are sure to face the continuous challenge of maneuvering through the fluctuations of the real estate industry, while also uncovering innovative approaches to evolve and improve our business practices.
Before we shift our attention to the 2025 Strategic Plan, I want to extend a heartfelt and enthusiastic shout-out to Chris Salamanis-Rivera, our remarkable 2024 chapter president. Chris’s dedication and leadership have truly set the stage for our continued success and growth.
Let me also devote a few lines of information about myself. I have over 15 years of property management experience, hold Certified Property Manager (CPM) and Accredited Residential Manager (ARM) certifications, a Massachusetts Unrestricted Construction Supervisor’s License and a Real Estate License. I have been appointed to the IREM National Foundation Board of Directors and prior to taking over the reigns as president of the Boston Chapter, I was its vice president. I am presently the director of property management for The Simon Companies, responsible for the operational success of its residential and commercial portfolio and oversight of the management team.
Now, let’s focus on our chapter’s 2025 strategic plan. We aim to maintain robust public relations efforts to boost IREM’s visibility, highlight our diverse educational programs, and expand our chapter membership.
We will continue to offer best-in-class learning opportunities to assist members certify, develop, and master core competencies and build new skills – adding new material along the way.
We will whole-heartedly continue to endorse, utilize, and advocate for the IREM Foundation and have set a budget goal of $10,000 – at minimum – to donate to the Foundation annually. The Foundation has proven itself as a resource to countless of our members by offering tuition assistance scholarships and grants to those pursuing advanced professional designations.
As a professional real estate management association, we understand the importance of fostering and enhancing relationships with local organizations. Even though some of these businesses may not meet the criteria for IREM chapter membership, they provide essential services that benefit our members. In return, we can support their growth and success as Friends of IREM. By becoming Friends of IREM, businesses gain the opportunity to conduct seminars, participate in and sponsor events, and engage with our network of key decision-makers in the property and asset management industry.
Our 2025 strategic plan remains steadfast in prioritizing diversity, equity, and inclusion. While diversity has consistently been a fundamental value of our chapter, we acknowledge that additional efforts are required to fully embrace and foster an environment of equal opportunity for all our members.
No brag, just fact – the IREM Boston chapter is the largest internationally and held in the highest National Standard in membership, education, financial performance, and operations. We will definitely continue along this path of achievement during 2025.
We have a number of events planned over the course of the next 12 months, beginning with our annual Economic Forecast Luncheon, during which several industry experts will share information on how the current economy is influencing apartment demand, and address construction and investment trends.
As we embrace the opportunities that 2025 will bring to our industry, I am deeply thankful for your ongoing partnership and unwavering commitment to IREM Boston Chapter #4.”
Anthony Susi is the 2025 IREM Boston Chapter president and is the director of property management at The Simon Companies, Braintree, Mass.
