Springfield, MA Paul Bongiorni of SR Commercial Realty represented Springfield Museums Corp. in a lease of their commercial building at 95 Chestnut St. The building, which was acquired by the Springfield Museums in 2019 as an addition to their campus and renovated, will become a restaurant called Chestnut Street Café and Bakery.

The restaurant will be operated by the owners of Pulse Cafe, a plant-based eatery in Hadley, MA. Chestnut Street Café and Bakery will feature a Dr. Seuss and Springfield Museums theme.
Dr. Seuss’s family once owned a bakery in Springfield, on a site where MGM Casino now sits. The new restaurant has been outfitted with a replica delivery truck, lettered with Seuss Bakery.
The Springfield Museums issued an RFP for the building in 2024, which sought a cafe or restaurant operator. Erica Swallow, a local agent, as well as president of the Springfield Preservation Trust and a Springfield Museums Advancement Committee member, sourced the tenant.
