Brookline, MA Chestnut Hill Realty (CHR) has promoted Jennifer Murphy to chief operating officer (COO), a role in which she will leverage her nearly 30 years of experience in property management, marketing, and operations. 

Since joining CHR in 1996, Murphy has held various management and leadership roles, most recently as the vice president of marketing. In her position as COO, she supports and executes CHR’s short- and long-term strategies, working closely with the CEO, executive leadership team and asset management group in all facets of the company’s operations. Murphy also works collaboratively with each department to meet and exceed goals, drive operational efficiency and maximize revenue. 

As COO, Murphy plays a key role in promoting company culture and ensuring clear communication between ownership, leadership, and departments. She represents CHR on industry advisory boards and in multifamily industry groups, continuing her commitment to building industry relationships and networks.

Murphy is a member of CHR’s executive leadership team and serves on the Executive and Investments Committees where she supports the execution of initiatives and promotes communication and cooperation to create a spirit of unity and teamwork.

Murphy’s leadership extends beyond CHR, as she is an active member of the National Apartment Association (NAA) and the Massachusetts Apartment Association (MAA) where she, along with Zuker and CHR executive asset manager George McHugh, previously served as past president. She has also held various leadership and board level roles with MAA and the Greater Boston Real Estate Board. Murphy is a certified Advanced Instructor for the NAA and is credentialed as a Certified Apartment Leasing Professional. She earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from Syracuse University.
