High Street Place opens Cumin - Indian Eats

May 23, 2025 - Retail

Boston, MA High Street Place, a food hall known for its diverse culinary offerings, has opened Cumin - Indian Eats, the newest addition to its lineup of dining concepts. Founded in 2019, The Cumin Club has quickly gained a loyal following, serving over two million meals globally and inspiring a broad audience of vegetarians, vegans, and flexitarians to explore the richness of authentic Indian dishes.

Cumin was born from the personal experiences of its co-founders, Harish Visweswaran, Kiru Rajagopal, and Ragoth Bala, immigrants from India, who grew up savoring the home-cooked meals of their childhood. After moving to the U.S. ten years ago, they longed for healthy, authentic Indian food but found limited options. Their solution was to create a brand dedicated to delivering the true flavors of India, with a mission to replace Indian-inspired brands with regionally specific, authentic cuisines of India. Named after one of the essential spices in Indian cooking, with Cumin offers dishes carefully crafted by expert chefs from across India, bringing Boston a true taste of the subcontinent.

“We’re eager to introduce Boston to the rich and diverse flavors of Indian cuisine, with dishes that take inspiration from the meals we grew up enjoying,” said Ragoth Bala, co-founder of Cumin. “Our chefs use traditional cooking methods and regionally sourced spices to ensure each dish offers a unique flavor experience that reflects India’s culinary diversity.”

The menu is designed for authenticity and will appeal not only to those who are already familiar with Indian cuisine, but also to those who are new to the flavors. It features a variety of bowls, wraps, and curry-spiced salads, drawing from five distinct regions of India: Punjab, Chennai, Delhi, Mumbai, and Kerala. Signature dishes include popular favorites like Tikka Masala, Kerala Korma, and Pav Bhaji, offering a vibrant and diverse dining experience that reflects the breadth of India’s culinary heritage.

“Boston has always been on our radar for expansion,” Bala said. “High Street Place’s focus on culinary innovation and quality made it the perfect location for our first Boston restaurant. We’re excited to bring our versatile flavors  to the High Street Place community.”

Lauren Johnson, senior marketplace manager at High Street Place, expressed her excitement about the new addition: “CUMIN - INDIAN EATS brings something truly special to High Street Place with its dedication to authentic Indian cuisine. The founders’ journey from India to the U.S. and their commitment to regional authenticity are inspiring. We believe their offerings will resonate with both locals and visitors, adding even more cultural depth to our food hall.”
