Roxbury, MA According to Madison Park Development Corp. (MPDC), Dr. Ingrid Tucker has been appointed as its new chief executive officer. Dr. Tucker, who was born and raised in Roxbury, brings over 30 years of experience in education, nonprofit leadership, and community development, offering invaluable expertise and a deep commitment to MPDC’s mission.
Founded in 1966, MPDC is the oldest community development corporation in Greater Boston and has been at the forefront of community-driven development in the area for over 50 years. Alongside their project partners, MPDC has brought nearly $1 billion of investment to the community.
Since joining MPDC in 2021 as deputy director and serving as acting chief executive officer since 2024, Dr. Tucker has been instrumental in advancing key initiatives, including the development of MPDC’s 2024–2026 Strategic Plan. As MPDC prepares to celebrate its 60th anniversary, the plan sets forth a resident-driven vision for the city’s future – centered on expanding access to affordable housing, increasing home ownership, strengthening youth workforce development, and fostering long-term community empowerment. With a strong focus on building generational wealth for Black and Brown families, the plan reflects MPDC’s commitment to creating pathways to economic mobility and equity.
Rooted in the belief of caring for the whole person, the plan takes a holistic approach that integrates health, economic opportunity, and community wellness to support the full spectrum of residents’ needs. It reflects both Dr. Tucker’s leadership and MPDC’s unwavering dedication to improving the lives of Roxbury residents.
Under Dr. Tucker’s leadership, MPDC has continued to expand its youth and young adult workforce development programs, enhance its arts, civic, and cultural programming at Hibernian Hall, and maintain The Dewitt Center as a vital community hub for resources and partnerships. MPDC’s initiatives include job training in fields such as healthcare and cosmetology, as well as mentorship, internships, and educational programs that empower residents to succeed.

Dr. Tucker’s leadership is deeply rooted in her personal and professional connections to Roxbury. She has previously held senior roles at organizations such as Mother Caroline Academy and Cambridge Montessori School, where she guided these institutions through critical growth periods. Dr. Tucker is also co-pastor of Awaken Christian Church in Roxbury, alongside her husband, Phillip. She serves on multiple nonprofit boards, including the Greater Boston Food Bank and the Center for Women in Politics and Public Policy at UMass Boston.
Dr. Tucker holds a Doctorate in Educational Leadership from Boston College, as well as degrees from Ohio Wesleyan University and Clark Atlanta University. A pivotal moment in her academic journey was spending her senior year of college at Spelman College, an experience that profoundly shaped her life and leadership perspective.
