ASM hosts 75th Anniversary Gala - by Jim Welch

October 24, 2025 - Construction Design & Engineering

We at ASM would like to thank everyone who attended and sponsored our 75th Anniversary Gala on October 23. It was a great night during which we honored our past, celebrated what our association has become, and looked forward to a bright future.

Special thanks to our outgoing president, Leslie Carrio of DePaoli Mosaic Co., for her leadership over the past two years. Serving as president of ASM while running a business is not easy, but Leslie did so with strength and commitment.

ASM is looking forward to the next two years with Steven Amanti of E. Amanti and Sons as president. We know Steve will be a great leader and will help advance our organization’s goals.

Celebrating 75 years of our association was like stepping back in time. Learning about all the people who built ASM over the years, such as Joe and Sally Corwin and Monica Lawton, has been a great experience. The commitment of the people who came before us is the major reason why ASM is still successful today. We will continue to build on the foundation set by our predecessors to ensure subcontractors are always represented.

As we celebrate our past, we also continue our mission in the present. We recently hosted a sold-out program, “Not Your Typical Safety Roundtable,” in collaboration with many of the prominent general contractors in our region. Special thanks to Eric Stalmon, vice president of safety and training for Marr Companies, who coordinated the event. We would also like to thank the following safety professionals for participating and for making this such a successful event:

• Mike Nicotera - regional safety director at Suffolk;

• Jason Edic - vice president, risk management at Lee Kennedy;

• Greg Hogg - safety team lead at Bond Brothers;

• Shaun Carvahlo - chief safety officer at Shawmut;

• Jamie Evans - senior director of safety at Turner; and

• Joellen Raciot - senior site safety manager at Dimeo.

Thank you to everyone who has helped make ASM over the past 75 Years. We look forward to 75 more!

As we look ahead, we invite you to stay connected with ASM and see how we continue building a stronger, safer, and more collaborative construction industry.
