Nahigian of Auburndale Realty speaks at Counselors of Real Estate annual conference
Detroit, MI The Counselors of Real Estate held its annual global conference on September 28-30, 2025 in Detroit at the Westin Cadillac Hotel. Rob Nahigian, SIOR,CRE,FRICS,MCR of Auburndale Realty Co. was acting as National VC of Engagement and Retention and was responsible for developing four programs that generate business opportunities for CRE members. He also served on the Convention Planning Committee and Membership Committee. He also, for the first time in 72 years, invited exhibitors to the conference which was sold out. On Monday, he held programs on “How to be Engaged as an Expert Witness”, “How to Collaborate with Counselors for Business”, “How to Win State and Local Public Assignments” and “How to Secure Corporate Real Estate Assignments”. His role started in January, 2025 and he had completed selecting his panelists and moderators by March. His panelists included the past president of CRE, Tony DellaPelle, Esq., Melissa Bach, Dana Rowan, Robert Griswold, Dennis Davis, Steve Bardoczi, Mark Nickita, Doug Poutasse, Lexi Moriarty, Anthony Opalka, Lou Frillman, Jennifer Grieco, Esq., David Lynn, Jonathan Schein and Lori Mason Curran. Nahigian facilitated the panelists and moderators and toured each event to observe the new programs. Over 100 CRE members attended the well-organized concurrent sessions.
He also worked from April to August to secure 15 exhibitors which were oversold and he had a waiting list. The exhibitors included: Impact Check, CoStar, Moody’s, NAR Commercial, Griswold Real Estate Management, Equus, CRE European and Asian Chapters, CRE Consulting Corp, CRE National, Prime Finance, CRENetics, Northern Trust, Dwellsy, SitusAMC, Business Insurance Health.
Nahigian also gave a presentation at the CRE Luncheon to the membership on his work to date and the improvements he made to the CRE website including adding Members Language Directory, RFP links to hire counselors, CRE members in Education, Real Estate Associations and References and Directory by Disciplines of CRE members. The task took two to three months to complete of all 950 CRE members and will be upgraded as time goes on.
Nahigian has also developed three webinars this year as well in his role to add value including: Providing Services for Asset and Portfolio Managers, How to break into International Real Estate and October 15 was the Do’s and Don’ts to Obtain Corporate Real Estate. Nahigian selected Warren Braverman, CRE as a panelist for the October 15th event who is the director of N. America Real Estate for Pfizer. Rob will continue as National VC until the end of 2025.
