What is one major challenge you’ve overcome as a leader, and what did it teach you? There is a huge difference between being a boss and being a leader. This role is called ambassador for a reason. There are many other decision makers within the organization and when working as a leader but not the decider, one must really stop, listen, and communicate in order to get the team to follow. There is no option for me to tell anyone within our company what they have to do, but I can lead this group by making sure I understand their challenges and helping in whatever way I can to make their jobs easier. I think the public does not know how hard being a commercial agent is.
How do you inspire, motivate, or mentor others within your organization? I try to lead by example. My goal is that all KW Commercial agents and brokers are having great careers as well as running successful businesses of their own. I work hard each and every day showing that there are new and different ways to operate as a commercial broker. I find it is important to get the team to go in a direction that is out of the ordinary, and its my responsibility to show how it can be done. I find those within our organization are doing a great job.
Who has had the greatest impact on your career or leadership journey? NHCIBOR - the commercial board in NH. The network here has been so helpful.
