Nordblom Company organized a collection of personal care and recreational items to include in TLC packages for U.S. troops serving overseas. For the second year in a row, Nordblom employees and members of its community service committee distributed boxes to Northwest Park and Network Dr. tenants to collect items that will be received by the service men and women as holiday gifts. The boxes were collected and delivered to Burlington High School this week, where they were received by students involved in community service and their science teacher, Alan McRae. The students will pack and transport the gift items to Hanscom Air Force Base where they will be flown to the troops for holiday delivery. Nordblom would like to thank the tenants of Northwest Park and Network Drive for their tremendous generosity.
In early October, Nordblom started a collection for "Coats for Kids" within the building at 15 Third Ave. Every few weeks donations are brought to Anton's Cleaners in Burlington, who cleans the coats for free. Anton's then delivers the donations to charitable organizations in the Greater Boston area who distribute the coats to needy families. Nordblom has donated over 20 coats to Anton's thus far and hopes to donate many more by the time the drive ends.
Nordblom's commitment to corp. philanthropy extended with a American Red Cross Blood Drive. The blood drive was held at the Northwest Park as well. According to the Red Cross, 52 units of blood were collected during the 5 hours of the donation. The Red Cross representative, Kerry Enright, said that, "we don't often see that exceptional level of support at workplace donations." Nordblom thanks both the Red Cross and the employees of Northwest Park for their involvement in this community outreach initiative.
