Vargas installed as IREM Boston president

Boston, MA The Institute of Real Estate Management (IREM), Boston Metropolitan Chapter No. 4 has named Yoany Vargas as chapter president for a one-year term beginning January 1, 2026. She succeeds Anthony Susi, who served as chapter president in 2025.

Vargas is a senior regional property manager at Housing Management Resources, Inc. (Housing Management Resources - Property Management Services) in North Quincy. She brings 22 years of property management experience to her role as IREM Boston chapter president.

Vargas is a Certified Property Manager (CPM), an Accredited Residential Manager (ARM), a Certified Occupancy Specialist (COS), a Certified Credit Compliance Professional, and a National Affordable Housing Professional – Executive. Additionally, she serves as the clerk on the Board of Directors of the New England Affordable Housing Management Association (NEAHMA) and sits on several of the organization’s committees, including Strategic Planning, Communities of Quality, Violence Against Women Reauthorization Act, and Designations.

A graduate of Valencia Community College with an Associate of Arts degree, Vargas lives in Lawrence, Massachusetts and has two children, Brisa and Josiah Martinez. In her spare time she enjoys hiking, reading, and traveling.

“It was a pleasure to pass the gavel to Yoany,” said 2025 Chapter President Anthony Susi. “Her wide range of knowledge and experience in the property management industry combined with outstanding leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills will be of tremendous value as we move forward.”

“It’s with great excitement that I begin my term as IREM Boston chapter president,” said Vargas, noting that she takes particular pride in being elected the first Hispanic chapter president. “We have several key initiatives over the course of the next year, including increased scholarship opportunities, expanded educational offerings and a continued focus on diversity, equity, and inclusion as we pave the way for the next generation of industry leaders.”
