Manchester, NH Rockland Trust Charitable Foundation supported the Granite State Children’s Alliance (GSCA) with the purchase of $25,000 in New Hampshire Community Development Tax Credit. The funds will go toward renovating the historic building at 607 Chestnut St., which will house GSCA’s statewide headquarters and Child Advocacy Center (CAC) of Hillsborough Country-North. The building will also serve as the headquarters for GSCA’s new Behavioral Health Program which embeds clinicians into CACs to provide on-site therapy to child victims.

“Rockland Trust’s generosity reflects the power of community partnerships in protecting New Hampshire’s children,” said Joy Barrett, CEO of the Granite State Children’s Alliance.

“This investment helps us transform an historic building into a child-centered space designed to promote justice, hope, and healing for families across Hillsborough County.”

Co-located services improve outcomes and reduce the burden on children and families already navigating unimaginable hardship. CACs bring together law enforcement, child protection, prosecutors, medical providers, mental health clinicians, and victim advocates to ensure that child victims are heard, protected, and supported. With the inclusion of GSCA’s new Behavioral Health Program headquarters, the new GSCA location will also feature offices for clinical managers, group therapy spaces, clinical training spaces, and an on-site behavioral health suite, enabling children who disclose abuse or neglect during their visit to receive trauma-focused care in one of three therapy rooms.

“Child victims of abuse and their loved ones depend on the essential services provided by the GSCA,” said Andrea Borowiecki, executive director of the Rockland Trust Charitable Foundation and vice president of community giving and engagement at Rockland Trust. “We are honored to play a part in supporting the renovations of their new home at 607 Chestnut St. so that they can continue to expand their services, reach, and impact.”

By centering the needs of children, the CAC of Hillsborough County-North not only strengthens investigations and prosecutions, but also provides justice, hope, and healing for children and families. The new headquarters will strengthen long-term organizational and program sustainability, enabling the GSCA to build a robust foundation for healing at CACs statewide.

The Granite State Children’s Alliance serves as the statewide chapter organization for New Hampshire’s Network of Child Advocacy Centers and operates four CACs located in Belknap, Cheshire and Hillsborough counties. GSCA offers training, resources, and support to ensure every child in New Hampshire receives a compassionate, evidence-based response. Nearly 2,000 Granite State children each year visit CACs.
