Boston, MA Bowditch has elevated attorneys Meaghan Borys and Emily Weber to partners.

Meaghan Borys

Borys is a seasoned employment and higher education attorney who conducts internal investigations and advises clients on discrimination, harassment, retaliation, and compliance matters. She counsels public and private institutions on policy development, governance, and student affairs, and provides training on federal, state, and local regulatory requirements. Her clients include Ivy League institutions, public university systems, government agencies, and private corporations. Borys also serves as counsel to the Board of Trustees of Landmark College.

Prior to joining the firm in 2024, Borys was an associate at a Boston law firm representing both education and non-profit institutions. Before entering private practice, she worked in the Office for Dispute Resolution at Harvard University and conducted Title IX and related internal investigations. At the outset of her career, Borys had the honor of clerking for the Justices of the Massachusetts Superior Court. She then went on to serve as an Assistant District Attorney in the Suffolk County District Attorney’s Office and litigated hundreds of criminal cases on behalf of the Commonwealth.

“Congratulations to Meaghan on her well-deserved promotion to partner,” said Timothy Van Dyck, employment practice area leader. “Meaghan is an exceptional attorney whose judgement, credibility, and depth of experience make her a trusted advisor to the institutions we serve. She consistently demonstrates the highest level of skill and professionalism, and we look forward to her continued leadership and impact at the firm.”

Emily Weber

Weber, who also joined Bowditch in 2024, has more than a decade of experience in family law, handling divorces as well as post-divorce and paternity actions, contested custody and removal matters, and modification and contempt proceedings. Among her clients are high-net-worth individuals whose cases involve complex financial issues, including business valuations and trusts. She advocates for clients experiencing high-conflict custody issues, including contested custody and removal actions and cases with the Massachusetts Department of Children & Families and Guardian ad Litem involvement.

Prior to joining Bowditch, Weber practiced family law at a number of Massachusetts-based firms. One of her most notable cases involved representing a pro bono client in an international parental kidnapping case, securing the return of his 8-year-old daughter to the United Kingdom.

“Emily combines deep technical skill in complex financial and custody matters with a compassionate, client-centered approach, guiding clients through some of the most challenging times in their lives,” said Robin Lynch Nardone, family law practice area leader. “We are proud to welcome Emily to the partnership and celebrate her outstanding contributions to the firm and her clients.”

The promotions follow the announcement of Bowditch’s recent merger with Kenney & Sams, reflecting the firm’s continued growth and commitment to expanding its expertise.
