BOMA Boston update – Property Management Excellence roundtable, ski trip and education

Boston, MA BOMA Boston hosted its first roundtable of 2026, Property Management Excellence featuring 2025 TOBY & Industry award winners on Thursday, January 22nd. 2026 BOMA Boston president Jennie Brennan, vice president, property management, Newmark, moderated the program. Panelists shared stories and insights about how to maximize building efficiency and how to run a cohesive team. They also shared property management tips and tricks, their roles in their properties and teams, and what their careers have looked like in property/facilities management. 

BOMI: Design, Operation, and Maintenance of Building Systems, Part I will take place on Tuesdays and Thursdays starting on February 3rd and concluding on February 26th virtually via Zoom from 2:00 p.m. - 5:00 p.m with instructor David Thompson, director of engineering, Newmark. This course will focus on understanding the intentional design and construction of buildings and how they function daily is a primary need in property and facilities management. The two-part Design, Operation, and Maintenance of Building Systems courses are designed to equip property and facilities managers with the well-rounded background needed to excel in the industry. In Part I of this series, you will learn about building design, construction considerations, structural systems, and air and water distribution systems. The updated edition offers new materials and systems throughout and an improved learning experience. You will have the opportunities to become acquainted with contemporary advances in the industry including energy benchmarking, efficient design, automated building systems, building filtration, efficiency credits, and improved sewer systems. You will also find discussion of the pros and cons of new materials to help inform your future decision making, including purple board, digital hygrometers, electric HVAC solutions, and CPCV. Connect With BOMA Breakfast will take place on Thursday, February 12th at Chrome Gym at 1 Center Plaza, Boston from 9:00am - 10:30am. The Connect with BOMA Breakfast is designed for current, new and prospective members to learn more about committee involvement, networking & engagement opportunities, education and events in an informal networking setting. Learn how to get the most of your BOMA membership and get involved! Various BOMA staff, board of directors, and committee chairs will be on site to answer any questions you might have regarding your membership. 

On Friday, February 13th BOMA Boston is hosting our Annual Ski Trip at Loon Mountain! Hit the slopes with an all-day ski lift ticket. BOMA Foundations of Real Estate Management will be held on Friday’s starting on February 27th and will end on March 27th. The course will be held in person at the BOMA Boston Office, Three Center Plaza, Mezzanine Suite Boston, from 9:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. Foundations is a comprehensive, 5-day, 35-hour entry level course covering the fundamentals of commercial real estate accompanies by four building tours.
