Doherty of Lila Delman Compass sells Seaview Terrace for $16 million
Newport, RI Lila Delman Compass brokered the sale of 207 Ruggles Ave. for $16 million. Kimberly Doherty, of Lila Delman Compass’s local office, represented the buyers.
“Seaview Terrace”, the largest privately-owned mansion from the Gilded Age is set on eight acres between Bellevue Ave. and the Cliff Walk. Offering 29 bedrooms and 18 full baths across over 43,000 s/f of living space, the home is the fourth largest of the Newport Cottages behind The Breakers, Ochre Court and Belcourt. According to americanaristocracy.com, Edson Bradley Jr., who made his fortune in the bourbon whiskey business, had the home built as a 50th wedding anniversary gift for his wife, Julia Wentworth.
“Seaview Terrace holds a unique place in Newport’s history and architectural landscape,” said Doherty. “I am incredibly honored to have represented the buyer in the acquisition of this extraordinary estate.”
According to RI Statewide MLS, this is the highest sale Newport since 2021*.
