What women should know about industry opportunities: I wish more women knew how many opportunities exist across the construction industry, not just in traditional field or office roles but in the space in between. Working in construction isn’t just limited to a skilled trade - there are roles that combine field experience, leadership, problem‑solving, and strategy with real flexibility to grow in the direction that fits your strengths and interests. My career started with reviewing municipal bids and contracts and I’ve since worked with estimators, project managers, and supported field technicians’ inspection programs.

Advice for women starting their careers: After 15 years in the industry, I’ve learned that real progress starts with asking questions. Seeking clarification isn’t a failure, it’s a commitment to learning. Asking questions builds understanding, strengthens skills, and ultimately improves performance, helping you reach the goals you set for yourself.

What is something outside of work that brings you energy, balance or creativity? Baking! Whether it’s bread, pastries, or desserts - if you can name it, I’ve tried to make it.
