What current or recently completed project, accomplishment or initiative are you most excited about, and why does it matter for your team, clients or community? One of the accomplishments I’m most proud of this past year was helping champion Vantage Builders’ 25th anniversary. It’s an impressive milestone that highlighted our people, the impactful projects we’ve delivered since day one, and our clients. Celebrating 25 years reinforced the strength of our relationships, honored the team and clients who made it possible, and expanded awareness of the work we continue to build together. We also made it fun with a special anniversary logo, branded gifts, and videos featuring our team, clients, projects, and culture.

What do you wish more women knew about the opportunities available in the construction industry today? There is truly a place for every woman in the construction industry. The field offers a wide variety of different paths, from project management, estimating and being an onsite superintendent to marketing, finance, operations, and leadership. You do not have to fit a single mold to succeed. Construction thrives on diverse perspectives and skill sets, and it provides real opportunity to build a meaningful, long-term career.

What is one piece of advice or perspective you would share with women beginning their careers in the construction industry? Join organizations, make connections, and don’t be afraid to try and then try again. These connections and mentors will help provide the support system that will make you more confident to take the risks and enter situations that challenge you that you need in any career to succeed. The AEC industry is a wonderful, dynamic space full of opportunities, and taking initiative will help you discover the paths that are right for you.

What is something outside of work that brings you energy, balance or creativity? I’ve been a fitness instructor for over 13 years, and it’s an outlet that boosts creativity and connects me with new people.

Share one fun or unexpected detail about yourself that colleagues might not know. I played the violin for 9 years and performed in France and Italy!
