What do you wish more women knew about the opportunities available in the construction industry today? Construction isn’t limited to roles like plumber, electrician, or other field positions. While I work alongside many women “boots on the ground,” I wish more women understood that the construction industry offers more than field work. Opportunities exist in design, architecture, engineering, project management, supervision, estimating, consulting & other areas. Women bring unique perspectives, skills, & leadership to these roles, making them valuable contributors to every part of the industry. With such a wide variety of roles, every woman can find a place to grow & succeed in the industry.

What is one piece of advice or perspective you would share with women beginning their careers in the construction industry? One piece of advice I would share with women beginning their careers in construction is to embrace the fact that this is an ever-evolving field. New technologies, processes, and efficiencies are constantly emerging and no matter how many job sites you work on, there is always something new to learn. Don’t ever feel inadequate or behind - growth and learning are continuous no matter where you fit in the construction field, and staying curious and confident will help you thrive in this dynamic industry.

What is something outside of work that brings you energy, balance or creativity? Balance to me is a mix of martial arts, hiking, morning workouts, time with family, friends and my pups and chasing sunsets.
